Long Weekend Getaway

Yeaaaay.... I was so excited me and hubby went to Bandung last long weekend, our favorite city to get away for a while from the hectic life in Jakarta. We spent two nights there and we purposely avoid the down town Bandung because we want to spent time in peaceful and serenity side of Bandung so we go up on the hill of Dago Pakar. Unfortunately hubby is a little sick from cold a day before our trip so we spent most of our time at the hotel. Here are some pictures from our trip...enjoy!

Buffet breakfast is one of my fav thing, make me super full

Over all we enjoyed our trip to Bandung, it just too bad that rain is pouring almost all the time during our trip and since I try to brave my self swimming during the cold rain now I'm getting the cold too, and maybe also getting infected germs from hubby...hatchoo!. See you on our next trip!

Asian Delight From My Messy Kitchen

I think that Asian food are the best food in the world, don't you agree? They're rich of flavor and spices. Over the weekend I'm experimenting with some recipes they are my favorite dish when I eat on Asian restaurant, since I'm just an amateur cook so I made it more simple version and so here it is....and in me and my husband opinion the taste was not bad at all.

Tom Yum Fried Rice

Ingredients :
2 minced garlic
3 citrus leaves
2 egg (scrambled them first)
1 table spoon seafood sauce
1 table spoon sweet soy sauce
1 pouch of Tom Yum paste
1 table spoon butter
2 plates of cooked rice
your favorite seafood i'm using : shrimp, squid and fish ball.

First stir-fry minced garlic and tom yum paste with butter, then add citrus leaves, and seafood sauce do this with small fire. After it start to smell nice add all the seafood (shrimp, squid and fish ball) and stir evenly don't over cooked the squid cause they could turn hard, just about 3mins and then add the rice, scrambled eggs and the sweet soy sauce, stir them up together until they showed some nice reddish-gold color. Ready to served!

Okonomiyaki (Japanese Pizza)

Ingredients :

8-9 table spoon wheat flour
2 eggs
half tea spoon baking powder
a table spoon butter
a cup of cold water
cabbage (thinly sliced)
carrot (thinly sliced)
lobster ball (boiled first and sliced)
salt & pepper

Toppings :
sea weed sheet
mayonaise
dried chilli

Sauce :
(mix together)
2 table spoon teriyaki sauce
2 table spoon seafood sauce
2 table spoon water

Mix all the ingredients together in a big bowl, mix it until it became nice slightly thick dough.

Pre heat a non sticky pan add butter, I'm using a double pan, then pour the dough evenly.
cook with small fire then after the bottom part is well done flip the dough and wait until the color become nicely gold. Then served it on a plate add the sauce and some toppings.

Love is Getting Fat Together

Over the weekend since our house is currently on finishing process there's a lot of dust and loud noises from workers during the day (even on nights when the workers have to stayed for overtime until 9:00PM), making us super uncomfortable to stayed at home. I use it as an excuse to make my husband take me out on dates and for me good food equals good date. So we went out to town for a movie (actually every Friday night is our Movie Night), groceries shopping and a quest to look for delicious food in town. We're having a lot fun and also a lot of stuffing our face together .... so thank you Husband for making me happier and fatter.

So Called Weekend

Hi Monday we meet again...uugh as much as I wanted to be excited about dragging my ass to the office on Monday morning, I just wanted to crawl back to my kingsize bed. Well maybe it's because I'm having such a good weekend that I just wanted to do it all over again (or maybe because last night I was up till late watching Glee S03 on DVDs...hahaha). Anyway, here's a recap of my weekend :

On Friday afternoon after office hour I went to Grand Indonesia to meet up with my girl friends from my previous office at Mega Kuningan, it's nice that we still keep in touch although it's been almost two years since I resign from my previous job. We're having dinner at Grand Suki celebrating my so belated birthday, we're having a really delicious Peking Duck too bad I didn't take the pictures. After diner my girls gave me my belated birthday gift a very chic Charles & Keith Wedges Sandal. They're very comfortable and I can't wait to wear them in style. Thank you girls!

I love Beige
Me and Mega Kuningan girls on 2009 Bali Holiday
On Saturday me and my parents went to my cousin house in Tangerang to have a family gathering after Lebaran, the husband was absent from this occasion because he just got home from over time at work at 03:35 AM in the morning so he could use some time to rest. I'm really excited to see my big family again this is one of my favorite thing to spent some time with my beloved family, there's so many laugh, stories and good food, my favorite dish at that gathering is my Aunty Titi fruit salad. It's ashamed that I didn't take any pictures but here are some of our family moments that I saved it from my family BBM group so excuse me the pics resolution is kinda poor.

Happy Family

On Sunday I've spent my day cooking for my husband, it's another way to keep my husband happy you know and one of my item on my birthday wishlist. I've cooked Chicken Kare and Vegetable Soup, but my favorite is this new recipe I'm trying Rainbow Pancake. It's really easy to make and super fun and the result is some very cute and yummy stack of pancakes. You just need a box of pancake mix, an egg, a cup of water and some food coloring (red rose, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple). I missed the blue pancake because I've looked to several super market but they ran out of this color (sucks). But anyway my pancake turn out to be just perfect, the key to yummy pancake is the toppings and I'm using fresh strawberry, blueberry syrup and some cheese. It was so much fun maybe I'm gonna try it every weekend.

I hope you had some good weekend too, cheers ^_^

Sweet Treats

As part of my birthday wishlist is to have a little sweet treat on a special occasion, so to celebrate my belated birthday few weeks ago we went to the nearest mall and splurge my sweet addiction.

Sweet addiction no. 1 a dozen of Mini Chewy Junior
This puff pastry is originally from Singapore, they have various topping and my favorite is Strawberry Cheese and aren't they look cute.

 Mini Chewy Junior

Sweet addiction no.2 Red Mango frozen yogurt.
Fro-yo is not actually a sweet treats but it's our favorite healthy dessert, and since the husband is not a fan of sugary food then we surely enjoyed this Twin Towers from Red Mango. I like Red Mango because the yogurt is not too sour just perfect taste for me and their topping are all fresh, they also have chocolate and avocado flavor.

Sweet addiction no. 3 Sweet Emotion candy.
Sweet Emotion has a various kind of colorful candy; Marshmallows, Toffees, Truffles, Hards, Gummies, Sours, Jellies, and many other. What makin it fun is you could mix them the way you wanted in to this bag for IDR 15.000/ounce, what a sweet deal huh!
